Spring CEO & CFO Day in the Gothenburg Archipelago

Spring CEO & CFO Day in the Gothenburg Archipelago

Since its inception, Tången has been a stable and reliable owner, fostering a sense of community across our portfolio companies and business areas. Today, Tången consists of seven platform companies within four business areas, each with valuable knowledge and expertise. Every company has its own systems and processes – but what can be improved, and what already works really well? The CEO & CFO Day is one of many examples of the strength of the Tången family, where we share insights and create synergies together.

This year, Tången’s CEO & CFO Day took place in the Gothenburg archipelago. The entire Tången team gathered at Lilla Bommen, where we were picked up by a chartered boat and taken out to Knarrholmen. The day showcased the archipelago at its very best, with brilliant sunshine and a beautifully shimmering sea.

Presentations to grow together

The day was packed with an intensive schedule focused on strategy and business development. The purpose was to create an exchange between our portfolio companies – exploring how we have tackled different challenges and how those solutions can be applied across our business areas.

First up were Nina and Per from Tången. Their presentation focused on how we can act in an often uncertain market and turn challenges into opportunities. Key tools include a strong understanding of product costing and how it can be affected by external factors, as well as keeping a close eye on cost control – particularly when it comes to staffing. These are just two examples of how Tången acts as a close sparring partner to its companies.

Our new acquisitions

The next item on the agenda was presentations from our two latest acquisitions: Göfast Gruppen and Sjuntorp. Sjuntorp’s history stretches back 200 years. The business has transformed significantly over the past two decades, but its strong culture and entrepreneurial spirit remain at the core. Göfast Gruppen, founded over 30 years ago, has grown steadily to around 50 employees today. Its operations are primarily focused on electrical and construction services, largely through procurement contracts and municipal companies. Both Sjuntorp and Göfast Gruppen emphasized the importance of their people and company cultures, highlighting recruitment challenges – an issue shared by many of our portfolio companies. Valuable insights and solutions were exchanged among participants.

Digital decision support

Finally, Christian Claesson from portfolio company NSI (Nordic Surface Innovation) delivered a highly appreciated presentation on digital decision support through Business Intelligence (BI). He discussed the purpose of digital decision support, what a technical solution might look like, and why it can be wise to extract data into a separate database solution independent of each business system.

The day concluded with an innovative pentathlon, followed by a delightful dinner in the evening sun. On the boat ride back to the mainland, everyone agreed: the day had been enjoyable, rewarding, and important for our shared development within the Tången family.
